Master Thesis:
Membrane Absorbers for CO₂ Capture
Motivation:
The capture of CO₂ is a key component of future climate-friendly processes. Membrane contactors offer significant potential, as they combine high mass transfer rates with a compact design. Within the scope of this work, different membrane types will be experimentally investigated and evaluated.
Are you eager to gain practical experience in the field of membrane processes and contribute to the development of an environmentally friendly technology?!
Tasks and Objectives:
The objective of this thesis is the development and experimental investigation of membrane contactors for CO₂ absorption. Different membrane samples will be experimentally characterized and evaluated with regard to their suitability. This work includes the following tasks:
-
Research on available flat-sheet and hollow-fiber membranes
-
Selection and preparation of membranes
-
Aging tests on selected membranes
-
Experimental investigation of CO₂ permeability
-
Comparison of new and aged membranes
-
Evaluation and documentation of the results
Requirements:
-
Matriculation in Chemical Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or similar
-
Knowledge of membrane processes, measurement & control are of advantage
-
Motivation for experimental work
